Many people live a hectic lifestyle and they just don’t have time to work out religiously to get the body they want. However, there are a few simple tips to help you look your best in a week’s time. So if you have a big date, or a special event for work, these tips will help you drop 5 pounds fast enough to be confident about your body on the big day.
Follow these next few steps for losing up to five pounds fast, and stick with it to continue dropping weight fast.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!! Drink plenty of water, not soda or fruit juices, but just water. Keeping the body hydrated will prevent it from retaining water and will help to flush out excess water from the body. This helps you lose weight because some of the extra weight we carry around is from excess water. So by regularly flushing out water, our bodies have less of a chance to carry extra water around.
Stop eating white breads and pasta. White breads, pasta, rice, etc. are simple carbohydrates, meaning they are digesting fairly quickly in the body and they tend to leave us feeling hungry fairly quickly after meals. Eliminate these starches and instead replace them with vegetables. Vegetables are complex carbohydrates so they take much longer for the body to digest and keep us feeling fuller longer. Vegetables are also filled with vitamins and minerals that the body needs daily.
Limit your salt intake. Salt makes us bloat, and bloating is just excess water in the body, so limit your sodium intake to 1500mg a day. Extra salt in our bodies make us drink more water to try and flush it out. Salt also holds on to water, making it harder for it to be eliminated since we have to drink much more water. So regulating salt will prevent our bodies from bloating, keeping our excess water weight low.
Exercise. Do 20-30 minutes of cardio daily to help burn calories. Specific exercises that target multiple muscle groups at once are optimal because these exercises help to burn more calories, up to 350, in the allotted time span. Consider doing cardio kickboxing, spinning or boot camp workouts to burn more calories as well as tone up your body. Alternatively you can do interval training. This is where you mix short intense bursts or activity with slower ones. For example, you can jog for 20-30 minutes but every 5 minutes you spend 1 – 2 minutes sprinting.
Get enough sleep. While we sleep, that’s when our bodies work, so getting enough sleep will make sure our bodies get the necessary repairs it needs. Getting enough sleep also helps us boost our metabolism as well as generates more muscle because that is when our bodies build muscle. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, consider sleeping in for an extra 30 minutes and see if you wake up invigorated.
